Municipal Commissioner reviews AMRUT scheme, works announced by CM in Ambala

Ambala district Municipal Commissioner Sachin Gupta today reviewed the works going on under the AMRUT scheme and directed officials to expedite the same.

The municipal commissioner first held a meeting with officials of the Municipal Council, Ambala Sadar, including Junior Engineer and Executive Engineer.

He directed the officials that the sewerage network should be connected as soon as possible. The commissioner also issued instructions regarding sewage treatment plants.

Gupta told officials that the work of the water treatment plant should be completed by December 30 and it should be ensured that all houses have sewerage connections.

A spokesman for the Ambala Municipal Corporation said the commissioner later held a review meeting with officials of the Municipal Corporation, Ambala, and the Municipal Council, Ambala Sadar, regarding the status of the projects announced by the CM. In the meeting, the officials were directed to improve the maintenance of parks and plants along roadsides. The corporation officials have been directed to improve the parking arrangements in the city area, repair street lights and install cameras on the main chowks in both Ambala City and Ambala Sadar, focus on beautification and improve the condition of public toilets.

Earlier in the day, during the Samadhan Shivir organised in Municipal Corporation, Ambala, 26 complaints were received of which 15 complaints were resolved.

Gupta said residents should approach officials in the camps to get their complaints resolved.
