Municipal Corporation to develop park in Jagadhri’s Joginder Vihar Colony at cost of Rs 14.36 lakh

The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), will develop Shri Ram Park located in Jagadhri’s Joginder Vihar (Ward No. 3) at a cost of Rs 14.36 lakh.

The development of this park will increase its beauty. Residents of the area will enjoy a comfortable walk in the park after its renovation. The park will have attractive pathways, seating arrangements and greenery.

Mayor Suman Bahamani laid the foundation stone of the said development work in the presence of Ward No. 3 Municipal Councillor Jayant Swami and other BJP leaders today. She directed officials of the MCYJ and the agency contractor to complete the development works as soon as possible while paying special attention to quality. She said Shriram Park of Joginder Nagar would be made grand and beautiful.

“Many development works will be initiated in this park to increase its beauty. There will be arrangements of attractive pathways and beautiful benches installed for sitting. Greenery will be increased. Ornamental plants will be planted. Residents will be able to spend time in a safe environment even during night in the park after lights are installed here,” the Mayor said.

She said efforts were on to give a beautiful, clean and safe environment to residents of the twin cities Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.

“Our twin cities are emerging as a tourism hub. Soon, a beautiful and grand park will be built on nine acres near Hamida Head in Yamunanagar. A river front will be built along the Western Yamuna Canal heading from Badhi Majra bridge to Fatehpur bridge,” the Mayor said. She appealed to residents to adopt parks around them and maintain them. She said the MC will give maintenance expenses to organisations which adopt parks.

BJP leaders Dharam Singh Mattoo, Praveen Khadri, Krishan Khadri, Ompal, Sunil Telipura, Poonam Gupta, Pratap Verma and other persons were present on the occasion.
