BJP national president and Union Health Minister JP Nadda, along with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, on Wednesday launched the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar campaign at a state-level event in Rohtak. The nationwide initiative, unveiled on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, aims to strengthen healthcare and nutrition services for women, adolescent girls and children.

A month-long ‘Poshan Maah’ drive was also kicked off to raise awareness on nutrition for pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls and children under six years. Nadda symbolically launched the drive by feeding a child a nutritious meal.

On the occasion, women’s health check-up camps, the fourth phase of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan, and a Special Immunisation Drive were rolled out. “Nutrition and preventive healthcare must become people’s movement. A healthy woman ensures a healthy family,” Nadda said.

To highlight Haryana’s improving gender ratio, sarpanches Renu (Samchana), Saroj (Kharawar) and Kajal (Bhaini Surjan) were honoured for leading villages where the number of newborn girls surpassed boys. Senior citizens above 70 received Vay Vandana cards under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, while Ayushman Cards were distributed to other beneficiaries. Several cancer survivors were felicitated as ‘Cancer Champions’.

Nadda and Saini also administered a pledge, urging people to commit to organ donation and adopt balanced, nutritious diets.
