The narcotics seized in 36 cases under the NDPS Act from Kaithal have been kept at the Karnal police lines after inspecton by IGP Amabala Range and Karnal Range Sibash Kabiraj on Saturday.

Proper sealing was done under the supervision of IGP Kabiraj, Karnal SP Ganga Ram Punia, Kaithal SP Rajesh Kalia, and SP Panipat Lokendra Singh.

A police spokesperson said the seized narcotics, which included doda post, chura post, ganja, charas, smack, heroin and prohibited medicines were in the process of being destroyed. During the inspection, the seized items were cross-verified against the entries in the case property register.

He further mentioned that after preserving the samples required for the ongoing 36 cases, the remaining case property would be destroyed as per legal procedures.

After completing the verification process, the lock of the room where the narcotics were stored was sealed.

Narcotics seized in cases from Karnal and Panipat districts were also sealed during the process. The confiscated substances will soon be disposed of as per regulations by the Drug Disposal Committee at the waste disposal factory in Bazida Jatan village, Karnal.
