The MLA has submitted a complaint to the police that on August 13, a person named Mohit threatened to shoot him on Facebook. He claimed that Mohit was a resident of Mandkaul village in Palwal and district president of the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP)

Petwar said Mohit had reacted to his comment on a social media post about Divgvijay Chautala and issued a veiled threat to his life. In his written complaint, Petwar said Mohit had three criminal cases against him, -- a murder case at the Palwal Sadar Police Station, and two other cases at Palwal Camp and Ballabhgarh. He urged the police to ensure his safety. Narnaund police station SHO Balwan Singh said that the investigation was underway.
