Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva, Registrar Dr Virender Pal, along with university officials, paid homage by garlanding the statue.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said the sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Singh will continue to inspire millions across the nation. He added that it is a matter of immense pride for the country that such a great martyr was born on Indian soil.
“The youth must follow the ideals of Bhagat Singh and dedicate themselves to serving the nation,” he emphasised. Sachdeva further noted that the country would always remain indebted to this great son of India, who sacrificed his life for freedom, and his supreme sacrifice would forever be remembered.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof Rakesh Kumar, along with teachers, non-teaching staff, research scholars, and students also paid their tributes.
