National conference on ‘Mission Olympics 2036’ on September 27 at sports university

Ashok Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Sports University of Haryana, said a one-day national conference on ‘Mission Olympics 2036’ would be held on September 27. The conference would be inaugurated by Olympian Neeraj Chopra, while Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony.

In a press conference held on Tuesday, Ashok Kumar said the main objective of the conference would be to lay the foundation for the journey of India from seven to 70 medals in Olympics 2036.

"India has bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games, so we are thinking of having a vision for the future, where we will discuss the journey about how to bridge the gap between seven to 70 medals and strategies to achieve the target," he said.

The Vice-Chancellor said eminent sportspersons of the country, officials of the Sports Authority of India, expert sports journalists, sports administrators of the Railway Department, administrative officers of the Central, state government and Sports Departments, sports academicians, representatives of sports federations, including the IOA, private entrepreneurs in sports will participate in the national conference.
