National Lok Adalat: 19,646 cases settled in Panipat, 16,884 in Sonepat

As many as 19,646 cases settled in sessions’ division at Panipat, while 16,884 cases were resolved with the mutual understanding of the both sides in the Sonepat sessions’ division during the National Lok Adalat held on Saturday.

Varsha Sharma, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), said under the guidance of Sudesh Kumar Sharma, District and Sessions Judge-cum- Chairperson, DLSA, National Lok Adalat was organised here.

In all, 23,154 cases were listed for hearing in the National Lok Adalat on Saturday of which 19,646 cases were settled in Panipat and Samalkha sub-division, Sharma said, while adding that an amount of Rs 40.22 crore was recovered in the National Lok Adalat.

Pracheta Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA, said under the guidance of Dr Narinder Kaur, National Lok Adalat organised in Sonepat and in the sub-divisions Gohana, Gannaur and Kharkhoda. In all, 16,884 cases were settled in the National Lok Adalat and amount of Rs 6.65 crore collected, Singh said.
