NDRI elects new student council
Karnal: The student council elections for the academic session 2023-2024 were recently held at the ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (Deemed University) under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor and Director Dheer Singh. Surati Utsav Bhai S was elected as the president, while Ajit Kumar Dhaker was elected as the vice-president, Sree Hari S as general secretary, Himanshu as joint secretary and Nisha as financial secretary. Devendra Dadhich, Neha Padaliya and Khyati were elected as executive members. Joint Director Academics Ashish Kumar Singh said the elections were held after three years. Animal physiology head and election committee chairman Ajay K Dang hoped that the newly elected council would work for the growth and development of university.
Youth fest: Arya College wins trophy
Panipat: A team of Arya College representing Kurukshetra University won the overall trophy in the North-West Inter-University Youth Festival held at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) in Rohtak from February 9 to 13. Principal Jagdish Gupta said the team participated in five disciplines, of which the participants secured the first position in two categories, second position in three categories and fourth position in two categories. Principal said the college stood first for the 18th time in the youth festival in the Karnal zone, nine times in the inter-zonal youth festival and seven times in the Ratnawali fest.
GVM girls excel at Red Cross camp
Sonepat: GVM Girls College won the overall trophy in the state-level Youth Red Cross Training Camp for girls held in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, from February 7 to 12. As many as 213 girls from 35 colleges across the state participated in the camp organised by the Indian Red Cross Society (Haryana). Youth Red Cross college coordinator Pooja Gulati was conferred the ‘Star Performer’ award. GVM Society president OP Paruthi and principal Manjula Spah congratulated the team for the achievement and appreciated the efforts made by them. TNS
