New Market ranked first, Model Town Market second in Yamunanagar for maintaining cleanliness

The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), has allotted ranks to several places in twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri for maintaining cleanliness and beautification. Under the Swachhata Pakhwada, a team of the MCYJ visited educational institutes, colonies, public and other places in the twin cities to check cleanliness and allot ranks.

According to information, on directions of MCYJ Commissioner Akhil Pilani, Chief Sanitary Inspector Anil Nain along with social organisations and IEC expert Pooja Agarwal inspected markets, educational institutes, colonies and other areas recently.

The team inspected New Market, Meera Bai Bazaar, the Camp area, Patthar Wala Bazaar in Jagadhri, Jhanda Chowk, Main Bazaar, Model Town, Tilak Nagar, Devi Mandir Market and several other places in twin cities.

The team checked cleanliness and other arrangements at these places. After inspection, New Market was given first rank, Model Town Market second and Anand Market was allotted the third rank.

Similarly, among educational institutions, Sant Nischal Singh Public School came first, New Happy Public School second and Sacred Heart Convent School third for maintaining cleanliness.

Among colonies, Sector 17 and 18 of Ward No. 7 got first place, Model Town of Ward No. 8 second and Jammu Colony of Ward No. 13 third place.

The MCYJ team honoured operator of Daily Ways Super Store near GNG College situated on Chhoti Line for keeping two dustbins at his shop to dispose of dry and wet waste separately. The area inside and around the shop was also kept clean and beautiful by the operator.

Chief Sanitation Inspector Anil Nain praised operator for this initiative and called upon nearby shopkeepers to take inspiration from him and keep dustbins at their shops. “All residents should cooperate in Swachhata Pakhwada run by the Municipal Corporation and ensure that their city remains clean and beautiful,” said Nain.
