The state government has issued revised guidelines on the re-employment of retired government employees. As per Rule 143 of the Haryana Civil Services (General) Rules, 2016, re-employment beyond 58 years will be allowed “only in exceptional or extraordinary circumstances, and only for a maximum of two years.”
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, in a letter to all Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, and Deputy Commissioners, said a committee had been reconstituted through orders dated June 18, 2025. This committee will review both individual and category-wise cases where retired employees’ services are deemed essential.
