Newly constructed divider poses danger
JUST months after the construction of a divider on Hansi road in Karnal city, it is posing a serious threat to the lives of commuters. It is broken at some places and at some, its construction is left incomplete. Due to the ongoing construction work, streetlights on the road are also non-functional. Consequently, making it more risky, particularly for bikers. The authorities concerned must ensure an early repair of the divider. Amit Ahuja, Karnal
PUBLICITY CAMPAIGNS A WASTAGE OF PUBLIC MONEY
THE local authorities and administration tend to use any open space for various publicity campaigns. However, the authorities fail to give a serious thought if the campaigns are worth the public money or not. Recently, the authorities had laid out some instructions regarding road safety and traffic rules on a sheet made of plastic and put it out on a wall owned by municipal corporation at Ajronda Chowk here. Soon thereafter, some anti-social elements tore the plastic sheet carrying the instructions. The drive was thwarted in the beginning and failed to serve the purpose. ONION OUT OF REACH
THE price of onion has skyrocketed and touched Rs100 per kg. Consequently, as one can see, the common man has stopped consuming onions altogether. In addition, prices of other vegetables are also seeing a rise. This has disturbed the budget of a common man greatly. Many find it difficult to afford green vegetables, a great source of vitamins.
