Senior officials from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Haryana — including Additional State Informatics Officer (ASIO) and Senior Technical Director Anuj Mahajan, and Deputy Director Gagan Vishal Verma — visited Karnal to review ongoing IT initiatives implemented by the central and state governments.

During the visit, District Informatics Officer and Joint Director of IT Kamal Tyagi provided a detailed briefing on the district’s digital governance activities.

The NIC team also held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh to discuss key aspects of digital governance and cyber security. The discussions focused on the implementation of the e-Office system across all departments and the exclusive use of official government email services to enhance data integrity.

ASIO Anuj Mahajan underscored the importance of raising awareness through workshops on digital literacy, cyber security,\/ and safeguarding digital infrastructure. He also outlined the penalties for breaches under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Drawing attention to the increasing risk of cyber fraud, Mahajan warned officials about deceptive links circulated via OTPs, emails, SMS and WhatsApp messages. He urged them to verify the source before clicking on any link and to interact only with trusted and official sources.
