Nine booked for attacking police party in Pehowa
The Pehowa police in Kurukshetra district have booked nine persons allegedly for attacking a police party when it went to Morthali village to arrest a man namely Balwinder of the same village in connection with a case.
In his complaint, ASI Ashok Kumar of Cheeka in Kaithal police station, said he along with his team members raided Morthali village to arrest Balwinder. When they arrested the accused, his family members, including women, attacked them.
An FIR has been registered under Sections 121 (1), 132 and 221 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Anjali, Kajal, Pinki, Sakina, Kamla, Babli, Rinku, Kaku, Molu Bira for assault on the police party and forcibly taking away the accused from the police custody.
The incident took place on Thursday evening, when the police arrested the accused. The police had summoned him for questioning related to a case. Some of the police personnel suffered injuries and their uniforms were torn during the scuffle. The attackers also threatened the police party during the attack.
