No complaint received against Badoli yet: Women's panel chief

Haryana State Women Commission Chairperson Renu Bhatia today made it clear that the commission had not yet received any formal complaint in connection with an FIR registered against BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli in Himachal Pradesh.

“No one has come to us to file the complaint,” she said in response to a question by mediapersons during her visit to Kaithal, where she listened to the grievances of women in various cases.

Twenty-five complaints from Kaithal, Karnal, Gurugram, Rohtak, Faridabad, Kurukshetra, and Yamunanagar were taken up at the meeting, of which four cases were closed, while two were transferred to DSPs for further investigation.

In one case, Bhatia told the police to summon the family of a man living abroad and said a case must be registered if they did not cooperate.

She highlighted the commission’s strict stance on cases involving NRIs abandoning their wives. She said with police assistance, stringent action would be taken against such people, even initiating deportation, if necessary. She urged the families of accused NRIs to cooperate with investigation.

She also warned that women filing false complaints would face action. “The commission operates with honesty and transparency to resolve cases by bringing both parties face-to-face and getting to the root of the problem to facilitate a permanent solution,” she said.
