All posts of government college principal are vacant in Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar’s home district Yamunanagar. The situation in CM Manohar Lal Khattar’s home turf, Karnal, is not much different with 80 per cent posts of college principal lying vacant.

  • 172 govt colleges in Haryana
  • 68 have regular principals
  • 89 posts of principal are vacant
  • 15 colleges without sanctioned post

Across the state, over 60 per cent sanctioned posts of principal are vacant in 157 colleges. Fifteen colleges in the state have no such sanctioned post.

Information sought by Pinjore-based education rights activist Deepanshu Bansal painted a sorry state of affairs in the run-up to the beginning of academic session 2021-22.

Bansal, who is also national convener of the RTI cell of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), has sent a representation to the state Governor, who is the chancellor of all state universities, to intervene in the matter.
