The ongoing dispute between Sirsa MLA Gokul Setia and Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Subhash Chandra has now taken a political turn.

A controversy had erupted after an incident last Tuesday when Setia allegedly followed the ZP CEO’s official car on Dabwali road, leading to a public spat. The MLA later went live on social media and shared a video, escalating the matter further.

Now, a video of INLD leader Abhay Chautala is going viral on social media in which he said Setia doesn’t know how to speak to officers and advised him not to misbehave with government officials. He suggested that if Setia believes in the truth, he should inform the Speaker of the Assembly who can then form a committee to investigate. “There’s no need to humiliate officers over loudspeakers or social media. Even an officer deserves respect,” he said.

Abhay -- in the clip -- also accused Setia of siding with the BJP, saying, “He praises the CM from the CM’s stage, what more is left?”

Responding to Abhay, Setia took a jibe at him on social media, saying, “You call me ‘poor guy’ and say I lack manners. But I didn’t beat up any officer or make them wash utensils, did I?”

Denying any link with the BJP, Setia wrote, “If I had joined BJP or had any personal interest, I wouldn’t have supported you during the Ellenabad byelection. I could have accepted the BJP’s offer and taken its ticket.”

Setia’s post has triggered strong reactions from both INLD and Setia supporters.
