According to a notification issued by the Registrar’s office, the scholars will be paid Rs 750 per hour of teaching, with a maximum ceiling of Rs 30,000 per month.
The order, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, states that the research scholars with NET who have already been rendering teaching services will receive payments under the same terms. It also allows the Dean or Chairperson of the USGS and the university teaching departments (UTDs) to engage such scholars in future, subject to prior approval from the competent authority and the requirement of students.
The move is aimed at strengthening academic support in the departments where additional teaching assistance is needed. CDLU officials said the decision would not only help students but also benefit research scholars by providing them teaching exposure along with financial support.
The notification has been circulated to senior university officials, including the Dean of Academic Affairs, the Dean of USGS, Finance Officer, and Audit Director for necessary action.
