Observers appointed for urban local body polls

Haryana State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh has appointed senior IAS and HCS officers as general observers, senior IPS and HPS officers as police observers and Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioners as expenditure observers for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) elections. The move aims to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections across municipal corporations, councils and municipalities in the state.

Among the general observers, Shekhar Vidyarthi has been appointed for the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, while Anita Yadav will oversee the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad. Mani Ram Sharma has been designated for the Municipal Corporation of Manesar and Jaibir Singh Arya will serve as the general observer for the Municipal Corporation of Yamunanagar. Prabhjot Singh has been assigned to the Municipal Corporation of Hisar.

In addition to general observers, several senior police officers have been appointed to maintain law and order during the elections. The list includes Dr Rajshri Singh, Manisha Choudhary, Shiv Charan, Hamid Akhtar, Sangeeta Kalia and Surinder Pal Singh.
