Office-goers, students stuck in monsoon rain in Gurugram

Office-goers and school students had a harrowing time as it rained for 2 to 3 hours from about 7 am in most parts of the city this morning. The sky was overcast for the whole of Wednesday. The Meteorological Department has predicted more rains in the next 24 hours.
The weather station of the Meteorological Department in Shikohpur (Gurugram) stated that 2.5 mm of rainfall was recorded at Shikohpur and 0.5 mm rain in Gurugram city on Wednesday morning.
The areas worst-affected due to waterlogging were Narsinghpur along Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, Basai, Hero Honda Chowk, Golf Course Extension road, Rajiv Chowk, Vatika Chowk, Iffco Chowk, Udyog Vihar, Sohna Road, Khandsa Road, old Delhi road, Pataudi Road among other places.
Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Gurugram Narhari Banger said the corporation arranged sufficient resources and manpower to resolve waterlogging in different areas with all the teams on alert. There was no waterlogging on Wednesday, he claimed while adding that the corporation teams reached the spots and started draining out water through pumps and machinery.
