The Haryana Government today increased pensions under various security schemes, including old-age pension, from Rs 2,250 to Rs 2,500 per month.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the state Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here. The increase will be effective from April 1, 2021.

Besides old-age pension, there are several other beneficiaries of social security schemes, including Widows and Destitute Women Scheme, Handicapped Persons Scheme, Ladli Social Security Allowance Scheme, Haryana Allowance to Dwarfs Scheme and Haryana Allowance to Eunuchs Scheme.

Meanwhile, the financial assistance given under the Destitute Children Scheme has also been increased from Rs 1,350 to Rs 1,600 per month while assistance given to non-schoolgoing disabled children has been hiked from Rs 1,650 to Rs 1,950 per month.
