A team of the Pehowa (City) police station have arrested a person involved in the theft of a Haryana Roadways bus from the Pehowa bus stand, and recovered the stolen vehicle.

The accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Nangal village in Kaithal district.

A police spokesperson said Satpal Singh, an Inspector with the Haryana Roadways sub-depot in Pehowa, reported that, at around 4.30 pm on August 7, he had parked a bus at the Pehowa bus stand.

The next day (August 8), the bus was found missing. A case was registered in this regard, and an investigation was launched.

A team led by Sub-Inspector Mahender Singh and Head Constable Atma Ram apprehended the accused, and recovered the stolen bus from Asmanpur village.

The accused was presented before a court and sent to judicial custody.

SHO Naresh Kumar said the accused had stolen a bus from the Kaithal depot in March 2025, and had been arrested by the Kaithal police in this regard.
