The Faridabad police have arrested an employee of a private company for looting Rs 50 lakh from the driver of the company owner.

The accused has been identified as Munit, a resident of Palwal, who worked as a cashier in a private steel manufacturing unit in Sector 25.

“The owner of the company had given his driver Rs 50 lakh to be handed over to a kin. When Munit got to know about it, he snatched the keys of the car and looted the cash. Later, he set the car on fire near Vijayghat in New Delhi,” the police said.

An amount of Rs 45 lakh has been recovered. —
