One killed, five injured in two road mishaps

A man was killed and five persons, including three girls, were injured in two road accidents in Rohtak on Saturday. Mukesh, a resident of Pahrawar village, was reportedly hit by a truck near the IIM Chowk while he was going on his motorcycle.

Mukesh was killed on the spot. The police has registered a case and began a search for the truck driver.

In another mishap, five persons were injured on being hit by an uncontrolled pick-up vehicle near Mahavir Park in the city.

The mishap took place when a youth started the pick-up vehicle to switch on a mike-system fitted in it.

The youth who did not know how to drive, reportedly pressed the accelerator as the vehicle started moving accidentally. The uncontrolled pick-up hit five persons before ramming into a wall of the park.,The injured, identified as Anil, Akash, Nancy, Keerti and Aarti, have been hospitalised for treatment. The police have registered a case and the youth has been taken into custody.
