The Haryana Government today issued an ordinance to provide job security to the contractual employees. The ordinance, the Haryana Contractual Employees (Security of Service) Ordinance, 2024, ensures job security till retirement to employees, including those working under the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN).

The contractual employees, who have completed five years of service by August 15, 2024, will be eligible for the new scheme. They will receive a basic salary, dearness allowance (DA) instalment twice a year, annual increment and death-cum-retirement gratuity benefits, maternity and health benefits, according to the ordinance. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
