An accused in a molestation case shot the complainant’s father in the eye in Damdama village on Friday. He was out on bail. A case of attempt to murder has been registered with the Sohna Sadar police station. Booked under the POCSO Act in 2019, the accused was granted bail last year.

Villagers alleged he was carrying an illegal weapon and that a police complaint in this regard had been filed earlier but nothing was done. “Had the police acted in time, the murderous attack could have been prevented,” they maintained.

“We have formed a special team to conduct raids. The accused will be arrested soon,” said Sandeep Malik, ACP, Sohna, when contacted.
