More than 100 private school buses were checked by a team of officials of the Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (HSCPCR) today in the city.

The surprise inspection was conducted by a team led by Suman Rana and Ganesh Kumar, members of the HSCPCR, and officials from the district unit of the Child Welfare Committee, Regional Transport Authority, Traffic Police, Education Department, District Child Protection Unit and Child Helpline. They checked the compliance of 28 conditions attached with the Safe School Vehicle Policy Act. The team checked various parameters, like the availability of the first aid kit, fire extinguisher, school administration’s number, police, Childline number, CCTV cameras , school’s phone numbers, lady bus attendant and conductor, route chart in buses, seating capacity, speed controller, GPS system and the provision of the seat belts in buses.
