Abhay Singh Chautala, national president of the Indian National Lok Dal, said over 20 scams had occurred during the last 11 years of the BJP government, but the government had only shielded the culprits in the name of investigation.

“The liquor scam, registry scam, recruitment scam, paper leak scam and now the paddy scam are living examples of the scams,” said Abhay Chautala.

He said in the name of investigation, cases would be filed against a few individuals to protect the big fish in the paddy scam and then, after the investigation report, others would be exonerated.

“The money from the paddy scam has gone from the top to the bottom. An impartial investigation will expose many prominent people,” said Abhay Chautala.

Speaking with media persons at the residence of former INLD Yamunanagar MLA Dilbag Singh in Yamunanagar on Sunday, Abhay Chautala said that the Assembly session was about to begin soon, in which a Calling Attention Motion would be introduced.

He said that as in the past, the government would avoid answering opposition questions.

He urged the government to give the opposition more time to question and express their views in the Assembly.

He said the INLD was playing the true role of the opposition by becoming the voice of the people in the Assembly and on the streets.

“While being the main opposition party, the Congress is also a team within the BJP,” said Abhay Chautala.

Speaking about farmers, he said the government portal stated that 3.1 million acres of land had been submerged due to rain, yet farmers were still deprived of compensation.

In a bid to strengthen the party base in Yamunanagar district, Abhay Chautala is following the footsteps of his grandfather former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal and his father former Chief Minister Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala of joining joys and sorrows of party workers.
