A total of 4,054.41 metric tonnes (MT) of mustard has been procured by the government agencies so far at the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 5,950 per quintal. Deputy Commissioner Dheerendra Khadgata urged farmers in the district to bring dried and clean mustard produce to the markets to ensure its smooth procurement.

“Mustard is being procured at the Kalanaur, Meham, Rohtak and Sampla grain markets in the district. HAFED purchased 1,450.01 MT in Kalanaur, 202 MT in Rohtak and 1,238 MT in Sampla. In Meham, 1,164.40 MT of mustard was purchased by the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation,” he added.

The DC maintained that the authorities had ensured the availability of all essential facilities in the markets, and all necessary arrangements had been made for smooth conduct of procurement.
