Karnal: Adding another feather to its cap, DAV College, Karnal, lifted the overall runner-up trophy in three-day 44th zonal youth festival of Karnal zone that witnessed colourful presentations by hundreds of students, competing in 30 various cultural events. The students managed to secure recommended position in group dance (Haryanvi), solo dance (men), folk song (Haryanvi solo), ritual, cartooning and commended position in choreography, Sanskrit drama, solo dance (women), swang, Haryanvi orchestra, Sanskrit declamation, clay modelling, group dance, group song (Haryanvi), one act play etc. Principal Dr RP Saini congratulated the convenor Dr Poonam Verma, her cultural team and the students for this well-deserved success and for achieving new heights in cultural activities.

Grant approved for MDU lab

Rohtak: The Haryana Government has approved a grant of Ra 1,22, 89,280 for procurement of sequencing reagents of 3,000 samples for the genome sequencing laboratory (GSL) of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU). An official communiqué has been received from the office of Director General, Health Services (Haryana) about the grant. MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh said that this grant would facilitate genome sequencing work at the MDU’s GSL. Notably, the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has approved the inclusion of genome sequencing laboratory (GSL) of the MDU in the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG).
