The owners of six stone crushers and screening plants have been booked for allegedly carrying out illegal mining in the Yamuna in the Uttar Pradesh side. Five plants are situated in Yamunanagar district while one plant belongs to Uttar Pradesh.

The case was registered at Behat police station of Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh last month.

As per information, illegal mining was carried out in the Yamuna in the area falling under Pratap Pur and Alamgirpur Gurjar villages.

After mining, mineral was stocked at Nuniyari village, from where it was transported to Haryana.
