The girl, a Class VII student of a local private school, and said to be a TikTok enthusiast, took the extreme step when her parents had gone to a doctor, the police said. No one else was present in the house when the girl took the step and no suicide note was found.

The girl’s father, Virender, a chowkidar at a private firm, told the police that his wife had a stomach ache and they went to the doctor to take medicine. Upon their return, they found the door of their room locked from inside.

When they peeped in through the window, they saw their daughter hanging from the ceiling fan. The parents then broke the window and entered inside. They later informed the police.
