Park for sick kids inaugurated at PGIMS

The park was inaugurated by Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, Vice-Chancellor Dr HK Agarwal, who emphasised the importance of creating a homely and cheerful environment for children admitted to the hospital.
“Sick children often miss the outside world, and become irritable during prolonged hospital stay, which adds to the stress of their families. This park is a step toward making their hospital experience more comforting,” said Dr Agarwal.
He credited Medical Superintendent Dr Kundan Mittal for the setting up of the park, praising his efforts as “exemplary”.
Registrar Dr Roop Singh said the swings at the park would not only entertain children, but also help in their physical and emotional wellbeing.
PGIMS Director Dr SK Singhal said such facilities played a crucial role in improving children’s mental health during treatment. Dr Mittal thanked the Inner Wheel Club, Rohtak, for its support in constructing and maintaining the park. Club president Silky Bansal said five swings had been installed so far, and plans were underway to develop a full green park.
