The grand Govardhan Festival and Competition-2025 was organised by the Haryana Lok Kala Sangh, Rohtak, in collaboration with the Department of Art and Cultural Affairs, Haryana, at Andy Studio in Rohtak. As many as 46 women took part in this state-level competition and presented beautiful Govardhan tableaux made with the use of traditional art.

Noted Haryanvi actor Janardan Sharma was the chief guest, while former Miss Haryana and Haryanvi actress Anjavi Singh Hooda was the special guest.

During a cultural programme organised as part of the festival, Archana Suhasini and her group Archies Dhamoda made their mark, while famous artistes Namrata Sharma, Rama, Mansi, Siya, Anu, Kaafi, Shivani and Kavita Nandal presented a captivating dance on Haryanvi folk songs and mesmerised the spectators.

Haryanvi artistes were specially invited to the programme presented an interesting ‘Been-Baja’ dance.

The participating women showcased their creativity by making Govardhan images in beautiful and traditional style.

Nisha Gupta of Babra Mohalla, Rohtak won the first prize of Rs 11,000; Tanu of Kharar village won the second prize of Rs 7,100 and Sakshi of Nandalwon the third prize of Rs 5,100. Apart from this, five consolation prizes of Rs 1,100 each were given to Kiran, Reena, Siya, Reena Rani and Anju Rani.
