Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said that the ‘Ekta Yatra’, held on the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, stands as a symbol of nation-building and public awareness.

He said that with his courage, firm resolve and extraordinary leadership, Sardar Patel united hundreds of princely states and shaped India into a strong nation. Rana said this during the ‘Ekta Yatra’ held at Radaur town of Yamunanagar district. The yatra began from Kheri Lakkha Singh village and concluded at the Radaur grain market.

A large number of youth, women, children and members of social organisations participated enthusiastically in the march.

“Sardar Patel’s ideology teaches us that national unity, integrity and a spirit of service are the true identity of a strong India. Our younger generation should draw inspiration from his life and contribute to the nation’s progress,” said the minister.

He added that the vision of a developed India by 2047 should be a collective resolve of every citizen. Appealing to the people to promote indigenous products, he said, “When we adopt ‘swadeshi’, we strengthen local artisans, women’s groups and the nation’s economy.”
