Rohtak: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) organised a plantation drive in association with the Forest Department of Haryana at Rohtak. MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh and other officials of the university initiated the plantation programme organised on an outer bypass road of Rohtak city. Youth Red Cross (YRC) volunteers from university teaching departments and affiliated colleges participated in the drive. Head, department of botany and coordinator, environment sustainability management cell, Prof Vinita Hooda, coordinator (university outreach) Dr Surender Singh Yadav and YRC programme coordinator Dr Anju Dhiman coordinated the programme.

Schoolgirl bags silver in fencing

Karnal: Sancharika, a student of Class V at Dyal Singh Public School, Dyal Singh Colony, Karnal, won a silver medal in the Haryana State Fencing Championship organised by the Haryana State Fencing Association at GD Goenka International School in Sonepat. School principal Sushma Devgun and headmistress Priya Kapoor felicitated the student.

Online placements for GJUST pupils

Hisar: Ten students of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST) have been selected in the e-campus placement drive of Gurugram-based Pulsus Healthtech organised by the training and placement cell of the university. The selected students include Navdeep Ghanghas, Saloni Godara, Anil Kumar, Anshul Sharma and Rinku Verma of MSc bio-technology, Nitesh Kumar and Sunaina of MBA (General), Ankit Sharma of B pharma, Banty Boora of MSc microbiology and Akshay Bhatia of MSc chemistry from the 2022 batch. Prof Baldev Raj Kamboj, Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the selected students and wished them a bright future.
