Expected benefits: Reduced NCR congestion, improved trade, industrial growth, more jobs

Addressing a press conference, Saini said the Prime Minister will dedicate six road projects worth about Rs 11,000 crore, of which two — costing nearly Rs 2,000 crore — are connected to Haryana under the Urban Extension Road-2 (UER-2) initiative.

“These will free the NCR from traffic jams and connectivity challenges,” the CM said, adding that the new network would serve as a vital four-lane link between Delhi-NCR and Haryana’s industrial clusters.

Saini said the projects would not only ease transport but also “unlock fresh opportunities for trade and employment.”

He said that in Package-4, a 29.6-km road will be built at Rs 1,490 crore to connect Sonepat directly, easing the load on NH-44. “This road will also connect the Bawana Industrial Area with NH-352A (Jind–Gohana Road), giving a new push to trade and industry,” he said.

Under Package-5, a 7.3-km stretch, costing Rs 487 crore will be built, linking Dichaon Kalan in Delhi with Bahadurgarh and the KMP Expressway, ensuring seamless access.

Calling the projects a “testament to the double-engine government’s commitment to building world-class infrastructure,” the CM expressed gratitude to Modi for keeping Haryana’s development in special focus. “The Prime Minister has a special connection with Haryana,” he said.

Pays tribute to Vajpayee

Saini also paid tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary, hailing him as a statesman who redefined the spirit of Indian politics.

“Vajpayee was an epitome of grace, and whenever governments strayed from the path of public interest, he always cautioned them with restraint and dignity,” Saini said.

Taking a dig at the Opposition, he said: “It is unfortunate that today’s Opposition lacks the grace and sense of responsibility that Vajpayee embodied. Congress leaders should draw inspiration from his life.”
