District Mining Officer Pankaj Kumawat said the operation was part of an ongoing campaign. “A joint inspection was conducted by the Mining Department and the Enforcement Bureau to verify vehicle e-billings. During this drive, a poclain machine and a dumper (bearing registration number HR-47-DC186) were found involved in illegal mining and seized,” he said, adding that a fine amounting to several lakhs will be imposed after due assessment.

Kumawat said District Task Force teams carried out vehicle checks at multiple locations to ensure compliance. “Any mining vehicle found without a valid e-dispatch document will face legal action,” he said.

Deputy Commissioner Kaushik emphasised that the mining department and task force teams are leveraging the online e-dispatch platform to monitor mining zones and vehicle movements. “A 24x7 coordinated effort is underway to track illegal activities, particularly in the hills. Violations of Rules 102 and 104 of the Haryana Minor Mineral Concession, Stocking, Transportation of Minerals and Prevention of Illegal Mining Rules, 2012 are being dealt with strictly,” he asserted.
