The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Dr Gagan Geet Kaur today sentenced two drug smugglers to 12 and five years of imprisonment.
The convicts — identified as Patryk Dziwinski, a Poland national; and Kazi, a native of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh — were surrounded by the police in May 2019 near the Qutub Plaza market in DLF Phase 1.
Dziwinski was arrested with 345 grams of opium, while his associate Kazi had managed to flee , but he too was arrested later. The court sentenced Dziwinski, who could not produce his valid passport and visa, to five-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 90,000. It sentenced Kazi to 12 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh. — OC
