According to the complaint by SI Angrej Singh, the accused had demanded Rs 50 lakh from the owner of Mitthan Sweets through a call made from Spain. Acting on a tip-off about Kushal’s presence in the park, the CIA-1 team raided the location.

“When the team tried to apprehend them, Kushal resisted, drew a pistol, and shot SI Rajkumar in the leg in an attempt to escape. Rajkumar, despite being injured, disarmed Kushal and secured the weapon,” the police said.

As panic spread, people fled the park, with some jumping over walls. The police arrested Kushal and his associate, Prince, and recovered another pistol from their possession. During the initial investigation, Kushal admitted to planning the extortion with his friends.
