The police team was attacked with sticks and rods by the villagers, who refused to cooperate despite the officers showing their identification cards.
The incident occurred around 11 pm on Thursday night when the police team, consisting of constable Sudesh, SPO Ramniwas and EHC Sandeep, arrived in a private vehicle to execute an arrest warrant against marijuana smugglers. According to the police, the villagers, including women, were under the influence of alcohol and verbally abused the officers, calling them “fake police.” They also vandalised the police vehicle during the attack.
The injured officials were immediately taken to the hospital and an FIR was filed at the Pataudi police station. A senior police officer confirmed that more than 10 villagers were named in the FIR.
"The arrested accused have been identified as Sanjay and Vikram, both residents of Lokra village. We are questioning them," said Inspector Satyawan, SHO of Pataudi police station.
Additional police force and a PCR vehicle were deployed at the scene following the attack.
