Keeping in view the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) ahead of the state Assembly elections, the Gurugram Municipal Corporation has removed hundreds of posters, banners and hoardings, etc of political parties from main roads, streets and other public places in the area under the MC’s jurisdiction.

MC Additional Commissioner Balpreet Singh said teams of the corporation were working to ensure compliance with the MCC. Publicity material was removed from Old Delhi Road, Mehrauli Road, Old Railway Road, New Railway Road, the stretch from the Sector-12 chowk to CRPF Chowk, Sheetla Mata Road, Palam Vihar Road, the stretch from Hero Honda Chowk to Umang Bhardwaj Chowk, Sadar Bazaar, Ashok Vihar, Dharm Colony and colonies in the restricted area of Air Force Ordinance Depot, Bus Stand to IFFCO Chowk, Basai Chowk, Sector-9, Rajiv Chowk to Sohna Chowk, Sector-14, Jail Complex, Sector-37, Sector-7, Sector-5, Bhim Nagar and main roads, squares and intersections of Zone-3 and Zone-4 areas.
