Sirsa: The nomination process for the Sirsa Municipal Council elections began, but no candidates filed their papers on Tuesday. While BJP and Congress are finalising names, INLD and Haryana Lokhit Party are reviewing applications. The nomination deadline is February 17, with political maneuvering still underway.

Mahendragarh: Despite 73 BJP hopefuls applying for two chairperson and 26 councillor posts in Ateli and Kanina, no nominations were filed on the first day. “The party will finalise candidates soon,” said BJP district president Daya Ram Yadav.

BJP flooded with aspirants, Cong yet to decide

Karnal: With 17 BJP aspirants for Mayor and 155 for councillor posts in Karnal, competition is intense. Congress, still collecting applications, has five aspirants for Mayor’s post and 50 councillor applicants. Ex-BJP councillors who joined Congress remain undecided. Candidate announcements are keenly awaited.

No nominations filed, one attempt unsuccessful

Hisar: On Day 1 of the Hisar Municipal Corporation elections, only one candidate, Joginder Singh, attempted to file a nomination but lacked complete documents. “No nominations have been received yet,” confirmed Zila Parishad CEO Harbir Singh.
