Aiming at providing utility services like plumbing and electrical repairing during lockdown owing to the Covid pandemic, the district administration has started a portal “homefixkarnal.in” for the residents. The residents have to book an appointment with service provider for anytime within next five-days.

The authorities got registered 83 utility service providers on the portal and training related to health and safety amid Covid has also been imparted to them. “Keeping in mind the issues arising due to the extended lockdown and its effects on certain utility services like plumbing and electrical repairing, which are crucial for households, we have formed a platform to link these service providers with citizens in need,” said Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav.

For availing the service, citizens can visit the portal. Service charges/ rates are not prescribed by the administration and are sole discretion of service providers and citizens availing services, he said. “We are ensuring four-step method for complete safety of citizens and service providers, including daily temperature check-up and health monitoring, three-ply surgical mask, protective sterile gloves and a hand sanitiser are a must for service providers, the service provider will have to sterilise and sanitise all equipments and tools regularly, and health and safety training for all service providers,” said the DC.

Although, district administration is taking all necessary safety measures for avoiding spread of Covid, but it will not take any risk due to negligence by customer or the service provider, he said.
