Scores of posters targeting the BJP’s slogan “Mhara Haryana, Non-stop Haryana” have appeared across Karnal, criticising the state government over crime against women.

The posters, pasted on various walls and roundabouts, highlight a grim statistic that nearly 14,000 rapes were reported in Haryana over the last 10 years under the BJP rule. These posters twist the party’s slogan, accusing the state of being “non-stop in crime against women.” These posters, featuring images of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and former CM Manohar Lal Khattar, directly challenge the ruling party’s slogan. The posters have attracted significant public attention.

The Karnal administration has launched an inquiry into the matter, but it is yet to know who has pasted them.

The posters have been spotted at multiple locations, including the walls of CSSRI, Parnami Mandir, the residence of Nilokheri MLA Dharampal Gonder, Railway Road, Ramlila Ground, NDRI Chowk, and other areas of the city. The posters do not include the name of any publisher or printing press.

After the issue came to light, the district administration swung into action and got these removed. Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Uttam Singh told Superintendent of Police Mohit Handa to get to the bottom of the issue and catch the people involved in it. SDM Karnal-cum- Returning Officer (RO) has also been appointed to inquire into the issue.

“All posters have been removed. We have launched an inquiry and the RO has been told to investigate the matter. The Superintendent of Police has also been asked to identify those responsible for pasting such posters,” the DC added. Similar posters on unemployment were also pasted on various walls of the city, displaying “Non-stop unemployment, one crore youth unemployed in Haryana. These posters have been found pasted at prominent locations in the city. Meanwhile, the Civil Lines police registered a case against unidentified person under Section 3A(1) of the Haryana Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1989 on the complaint of the SDO, UHBVN, Anup Kumar.
