The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has allotted work orders for seven projects to give uninterrupted power supply to residents of the northern part of the city. The power department will switch the power load to the newly constructed 132 KV powerhouse in Sector 18, which is going to be commissioned soon from the main substations at Chandoli and Kabri.

As per information, the UHBVN has allotted a work order to set up power lines to link the two powerhouses in Sector 13/17 part 1 and Part 2 with the newly constructed 132 KV substation in Sector 18.

The power to both substations is presently connected with the 132 KV substation at Chandoli, which is 5 km from Sector 13/17. But to provide uninterrupted supply to the residents, the department has decided to reduce the distance of power cables to reduce the line losses and faults.

Subsequently, the residents at Ansal Township, Sectors 13 and 17, and several colonies at Barsat road would get uninterrupted supply.

Similarly, the work order for the maintenance of the 33 KV substation, Mini-Secretariat, has been allotted and it would also be connected with the 132 KV substation at Sector 18. At present, this substation is connected with the 132 KV substation at Kabri.

After the work is through, residents in Sectors 6

and 7, Salar Ganj area, Mini-Secretariat, Insaar market, Geeta Colony, Tehsil Camp, etc., will get uninterrupted supply.

Aaditya Kundu, Executive Engineer (Sub-Urban), Panipat Circle, said the 132 KV substation was almost ready and would be commissioned soon. The supply to adjoining areas would be connected with the substation.

A 33 KV substation and 10 MVA transformer would also come up at Garhsarnai village to improve the power supply at villages along Barsat road.

Additionally, work orders to upgrade the 33KV substation at Barsat road, 132 KV substation at Naultha and 33 KV substation at Alupur Nain had also been allotted, he said.
