How are various courses in the university being strengthened?

Practical exposure is vital for effectively training students in Film and Television. We are working to establish strong connections with renowned personalities and leading production houses in the industry. The aim is to provide students with opportunities to visit these organisations, gain first-hand experience, stay updated with industry trends and acquire cutting-edge knowledge. In the past three months alone, several prominent figures from the film and media world have conducted workshops, interactive sessions and masterclasses on campus.

How can the university align with the Haryana Film Policy to benefit students?

The university aims to collaborate with the Haryana Film Cell by offering student internships, making campus facilities available for shoots and film-related events. We also plan to promote regional content creation through research, training and industry partnerships.

Is there a plan to preserve Haryanvi folk arts?

Yes, we plan to set up a Cultural Centre focused on preserving and promoting Haryanvi folk arts. It will support local artists, document traditional forms and offer students opportunities to engage with and help sustain the region’s rich cultural heritage.

How is the university ensuring industry readiness among its students?

Our focus is on skill-based learning and practical exposure. In addition to regular academic instruction, students are encouraged to participate in live projects, internships, exhibitions, performances and industry collaborations. This hands-on approach helps them build a strong portfolio and develop the confidence to meet professional challenges in real-world scenarios.

What are the university’s future development plans?

We have chalked out a comprehensive plan for future development and expansion. This includes a new library building, additional hostels for girls and boys, an administrative block and staff quarters. We also plan to start new departments, including Music and Dance, Indian and Foreign Languages, Mass Communication and Film Production. A postgraduate degree in Acting and Direction will also be introduced, along with the development of a sports complex.

How are you engaging alumni in the institute’s development?

Over the past 11 years, many batches have graduated and several alumni are now serving in prominent positions across diverse fields. However, no structured efforts were made earlier to maintain connections or involve them in university activities. We have now developed an Alumni Portal to engage graduates, and more than 300 alumni have registered so far. The initiative seeks to encourage them to contribute ideas, share experiences and support the university’s growth. Furthermore, a formal Alumni Meet is scheduled to be held within the next three monthsgrains, and lean proteins. Reducing the intake of sugar, fried items, and processed foods can make a substantial difference.
