The Department of School Education of the Haryana Government has suspended the principal of a government school from where some pre-board exam question papers were stolen recently.

As per orders issued on behalf of Dr Mahavir Singh, Principal Secretary (School Education), to the state government, Surender Singh, Principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Atail village, Rohtak, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect.

Earlier, District Education Officer (DEO) Parmeshwari Hooda had “downplayed” the theft of pre-board question papers, stating that those were “just practice papers”.

On being contacted for her comments on the conduct of pre-board exams of Classes X and XII in the wake of the theft of question papers, the DEO had remarked that it was not a big issue.
