Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh sworn in as 19th Governor of Haryana

The oath of office was administered by Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
An academician and political leader, Prof Ghosh previously served as the Head of the Department of Political Science at a college in Kolkata. He has made notable contributions to academic research and political discourse, having worked on projects supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and published several articles in reputed journals and publications.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and several dignitaries. Also present were the Governor’s wife Mitra Ghosh, Chief Minister’s wife Suman Saini and members of the Governor’s family.
Other key attendees included Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, Cabinet Ministers and Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi.
Following the ceremony, Governor Prof Ghosh extended personal greetings to the dignitaries and accepted their felicitations. A Special Contingent of the Haryana Armed Police presented a ceremonial Guard of Honour to mark the occasion.
