Profs honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards at Kurukshetra University

Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor, Prof Som Nath Sachdeva, honoured seven senior faculty members with the Lifetime Achievement Award for their distinguished contributions to teaching and research on Friday evening.

The event was organised on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, during which several other faculty members were also felicitated with Research Excellence Awards in different categories.

Prof Som Nath Sachdeva stated that these honours not only recognise the achievements of Kurukshetra University faculty but also aim to inspire excellence and innovation within the academic community.

Deputy Director, Public Relations, Dr Jimmy Sharma, said that the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award included Prof Pawan Kumar Sharma and Prof Sanjeev Arora from the Department of Chemistry; Prof Pradeep Kumar from the Department of Instrumentation; Prof Dinesh Kumar from the Department of Geophysics; Prof Ashwani Kush from the Institute of Integrated and Honours Studies; Prof Anita Bhatnagar from the Department of Zoology; and Prof Neelam Rani from the Department of Commerce.

Dr Sharma further added that the Research Awards 2024 were conferred in multiple categories. Prof Parveen Kumar (Chemistry) received the Best Researcher Award for H-Index, whilst Dr Vinita Bhankar, Associate Professor (Biochemistry), was recognised for H-Impact. The award for Best Publications in Sciences was presented to Prof Neeraj Kumar (Microbiology), while Prof Tejinder Sharma (Commerce) was honoured for Research Projects in Non-Sciences.

In the category of Research Projects in Sciences, Dr Ashish Prasad, Assistant Professor (Botany), received the award. Dr Satish Kumar, Assistant Professor (Social Work), was honoured for Projects in Non-Sciences, whilst Prof Neera Raghav (Chemistry) was recognised for Research Collaboration, and Prof Jitendra Bhardwaj (Zoology) for Patents.
